Buddha Taste - Blackheath

If you're wandering around Blackheath and spot a charming little spot tucked along 8 Royal Parade, chances are you've just stumbled upon Buddha Taste - Blackheath-a cozy, plant-forward restaurant that brings Southeast Asian flavors to the heart of London with an unmistakably modern twist. This is not your average noodle bar; this is a full-on sensory experience for vegans, vegetarians, and flavor seekers alike.

From the moment you step in, there’s an inviting warmth to the space. The relaxed outdoor seating makes it a prime pick for sunny afternoons, and the interiors manage to balance contemporary vibes with subtle Southeast Asian aesthetics. It’s casual but stylish, and yes-it's popular for both lunch and dinner, whether you're solo or dining with friends.

Let’s talk about the menu, because honestly, that’s where Buddha Taste really earns its name. You’ll find a beautiful fusion of Vietnamese, Thai, and Japanese-inspired dishes, most with a clever plant-based twist. Take the Pad Thai, for instance-classic, tangy, and slightly nutty, it’s done right here, with balanced textures and fresh herbs that hit just right. But the real game changer? The Bún SẢ - Lemongrass Nil-Chicken-a vibrant noodle bowl topped with mock chicken marinated in lemongrass that somehow captures all the punch of the real thing without missing a beat.

Craving something heartier? The Katsu Curry Crispy Coated Tofu is a must. Served with Japanese rice and a velvety curry sauce, it’s comfort food with a crunchy, satisfying twist. There’s also a Bento Box option if you’re in the mood to sample a bit of everything. And for those chasing something warm and slurp-worthy, the Pho Soup with pan-grilled pak choi and pulled Nil-Chicken will have you hooked from the first spoonful.

But Buddha Taste doesn’t just cater to savoury cravings. Their desserts and drinks game is strong. You’ll find Matcha Brown Sugar Milk Tea, Taro Milk Tea, and the crowd-pleasing Vietnamese Milky Iced Coffee-a bold yet smooth brew that’s as satisfying as it is nostalgic. Looking for something playful? Try the Kumquat Fruit Bubble Tea or the trendy Dalgona Coffee with Brown Sugar Milk, both rich in flavor and surprisingly refreshing.

Of course, there’s more to the experience than just good food. Buddha Taste also serves alcohol, beer, and wine, making it a perfect after-hours spot if you want a chilled glass with your Buddha Taste Patty-a mushroom-based burger that packs umami punch between two soft buns and comes with their signature Sweet & Sour Sauce on the side. It’s the kind of casual indulgence that doesn't weigh you down.

And for fans of Asian street snacks, the Vietnamese Spring Rolls (Chả Nem) are a crunchy, golden treat-pair them with one of the small plates for a light, satisfying starter. If you're into spice, the Singapore Rice Noodles (Bún Xào) with Omnipork Stripes and vegan shrimp protein will definitely hit the spot-peppery, vibrant, and full of umami depth.

Service-wise, the staff keep things friendly and fast, with takeaway, dine-in, delivery, and even kerbside pickup all available. There’s no wheelchair-accessible car park, which might be a consideration for some, but the overall vibe is relaxed, welcoming, and well-suited for solo diners or casual meetups.

Buddha Taste - Blackheath isn't just another vegan-friendly joint-it's a reflection of how far plant-based cuisine has come. Whether you're here for the earthy pho, the creative mock meat dishes, or just to chill with a Cendol or a craft tea in hand, there’s a satisfying sense of balance in every part of the experience. And in a neighborhood like Blackheath, it’s refreshing to find a spot that marries wellness with bold flavor so effortlessly.

Buddha Taste never fail to deliver incredibly delicious and tasty meals and cater to my allergies superbly. This place shows you just how it’s done, so much so that you wouldn’t miss meat at all. Literally the best vegan/vegetarian hidden gem in the entire region! If you’re ever nearby go there! It is a must.

Excellent quality, delicious and wide range of choices (all vegetarian/vegan as well! :)) the mock meats are fantastic and all the dishes are very flavoursome. Let downs are that the premises is very small - they have baby chairs but no baby change. The portion sizes are also quite small and not all the bubble teas can be made vegan. But highly recommended as one of the best restaurants in the area.

I have visited three times and at time of print and I have not been disappointed. Excellent food and service. The menu has a great variety to choose from and it’s well thought through. Buddha Taste is truly vegan and the servings are substantial. I do recommend that you visit and you will be pleasantly surprised.

I just happened to pass by and was pleasantly surprised by this place. The food was delicious, I ordered the summer rolls and KFC fried chicken, and both were great, especially the chicken. The staff, Ngoc and Kris, were very attentive and friendly. The location next to the park is super chill and relaxing. Highly recommend

Went for a friends catch-up and post birthday celebration. I reserved the table with ease as Jade helped me with every step of the way for my party of 6 a few days before. On arrival we were greeted without having to wait long. It wasn’t busy so it was lovely. The atmosphere was good although more having more people would feel a lot warmer, nevertheless we felt welcomed. The staff took our orders briskly without us having to wait. We had Mach’s bubble tea to wet our whiskers and our started came quickly piping hot. The dishes were varied and very tasty. Warning: the chillies in some our dishes are actually quite potent and I love my chillies! Our favourite dishes were the seaweed fried rice and the lotus roots. The tofu and Buddha patty were also great. We loved all the dishes and we ate a lot! If you’re vegan/vegetarian this is the place I highly recommend. I’m carnivorous as they come and I really loved it here; it makes a change from the usual Friday night steak/chicken etc so Buddha Tastes really delivered and quench my foodie tastebuds. It’s a “hidden gem” in plain sight here in. Blackheath and I’ll be coming back for more. (PS: we tucked into our food straight away and totally forgot to take more photos. Next time!)
